You might have noticed that some changes have occurred at KCSP Machine, formerly Kansas City Screw Products. A new owner has taken the helm, we’ve done some rebranding and launched this new website! Despite all the change, our commitment to delivering precision machined parts on time with a level of accountability our customers expect is still our primary operating principle.

What’s New at KCSP Machine
Business Ownership
Brandon Worrell took over as our new owner in 2023. With deep roots in Kansas City and years of successful business leadership, Brandon aims to grow and modernize the company while staying true to the foundations set by the Leighter family.
Brandon’s experience in business ownership began in the 2000s when he started a software and web technology company with a trusted partner. He successfully ran that business for almost a decade before successfully exiting. Although working as a consultant and building high-performing software teams, Brandon always had a desire to return to business ownership and operation. With the push to reshore manufacturing and rebuild the American industrial base after the Covid pandemic, Brandon saw an opportunity in manufacturing. He could apply his technology and business management background for maximum impact in an industry that, although traditional in many ways, was being quickly changed by advances in data and computing.
Kansas City Screw Products caught Brandon’s eye for several reasons:
Its very long tenure, having successfully evolved from solely a screw machine shop to add full service CNC turning and milling.
Its strong relationships with a long-term customer base - a sign of an excellent service ethic.
A team of passionate, capable, and hard-working employees.
So far for Brandon, it’s been extremely invigorating and rewarding. We’re excited to have Brandon at the helm, and he looks forward to contributing to KCSP Machine’s continued success.
Our Name: KCSP Machine
When he joined the company, Brandon made a point to reach out to customers as quickly as possible. He introduced himself and made a point to mention each of the services we offer in our full-service machine shop. He always ended the conversation with one question, “Did you know that while we have ‘Screw Products’ in our name, we make more than just screws and fasteners? Did you know we offer a full array of precision machining services?” The response, more often than not, was “Huh, I didn’t know that!”
To reduce that confusion, Brandon decided to change the business name to KCSP Machine. The initials “KCSP” harken back to our original name (KCSP = Kansas City Screw Products). We added “Machine” because CNC machining is the core of what we do.
In this rebranding effort, our team wanted to make sure we’re honoring the legacy the Leighter family has built while reflecting the full scope of our business.

Strong Customer Relationships
We can produce the most exceptional parts and assemble the most talented teams possible, but our business wouldn’t last over 75 years without our phenomenal customer base. The KCSP Machine team has maintained decades-long relationships with many of our customers and stepped up countless times when they needed us.
And our customers have returned the favor. One story stands out in particular when we experienced a catastrophic fire in our shop in the ‘90s. With a large quantity of product inventory in the shop and demolition crews ready to tear down the building, we found ourselves in a tight spot. Our customers were left without access to crucial parts and we were at a loss on how to proceed. In one of the most difficult moments our shop has faced, a handful of our customers reached out to our owner and asked how they could help. This support and generosity went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Their contributions not only helped us rebuild our shop but also served as a powerful reminder of the strong bonds we’ve forged over the years.
No matter what changes occur in our shop, our customers can feel confident that we will always prioritize the partnerships we’ve built with them.
